Core-LX Part of Catalyze Challenge Winning Solution Team
Core Learning Exchange was recognized as part of a winning team in the Catalyze Challenge, which awarded grants up to $500,000 to innovative education solutions. The initiative, announced September 13, 2022, selected 25 winners from approximately 550 applicants.

Program Overview
The project, titled "Building Career Pathways for Native Students," targets middle school through post-secondary education. Its primary goals include increasing construction trade credentials among students from three Native American nations: Menominee, Stockbridge-Munsee, and Ho-Chunk.
Core Components
The solution integrates virtual reality and digital courseware from our comprehensive CTE platform, a mobile construction laboratory, community partnership councils, and dual enrollment opportunities. The approach aims to address workforce shortages in construction trades while tackling the housing crisis affecting tribal communities, leveraging our industry certification programs.
Philosophy
The program intentionally preserves cultural identity and community connection, contrasting with historical vocational education approaches that removed students from their cultural contexts. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to collaborative educational research that advances equity.
Funding Source
The Catalyze Challenge represents a collaborative effort among American Student Assistance, Arnold Ventures, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Charles Koch Foundation, Charter School Growth Fund, Joyce Foundation, and Walton Family Foundation—totaling nearly $10 million across 40 solutions in 24 states.
